My Beliefs and Approach as a Counsellor and PsychotherapistMy approach as a counsellor and psychotherapist is integrative and underpinned by the values of person centred and humanistic counselling. This means that I am committed to listening with empathy, respect and without judgement of any aspect of who you are. I integrate different therapy approaches into my work which allow me to best meet your needs as a client.
I believe that establishing a relationship in which you can feel accepted and understood plays a vital role in your healing process. I will hope to help you feel safe and welcome to explore your experience. You are the expert on yourself and within you are the resources you need to make the best decisions for yourself. My role as therapist is to facilitate your exploration of self and to help to empower you to live your life more fully, freely and creatively. |
In my work as a psychotherapist, I integrate different psychotherapy approaches including psychodynamic, relational, trauma-informed and person-centred approaches.
Additional Training
Additional Training
I regularly attend workshops and seminars in the interest of continuous professional development (CPD) and in support of my love of learning and fascination with the theories and practice of psychotherapy. Over the past decade my work and interest has drawn me towards training in the areas such as attachment, trauma, mindfulness, body psychotherapy, emotional regulation and internalised shame.
In recent years I have pursued a special interest in training to work with individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating and eating distress alongside my other varied work as a psychotherapist in private practice.
I am committed to continuous learning that will help me to be inclusive and informed in my practice.
I am committed to practicing in a neuroaffirmative manner.
