My Beliefs and Approach as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist
My approach as a counsellor and psychotherapist is underpinned by the values of person centered and humanistic counselling. This means that I hold a deep respect for your individuality, I am committed to listening with empathy and without judgement.
I believe in establishing a relationship in which you can feel accepted and understood. I want to help you feel safe to explore your experience. I believe that you are the expert on yourself and that within you are the resources you need to make the best decisions for yourself. My role as a counsellor is to facilitate your search for inner resources and to empower you to live your life more fully and creatively.
In my work as a therapist I integrate different psychotherapy approaches including psychodynamic, relational, person-centred and trauma informed approaches.

Additional Training
I regularly attend workshops and seminars in the interest of continuous professional development (CPD) in support of my love of learning and fascination with advances in the field of psychotherapy. In recent years my work and interest has drawn me towards the areas of attachment, trauma and the mind/body connection.
